The Mindblower version for adults and youth is essentially a cooperative board game – consisting of a longer team-play phase and a subsequent, short individual endgame. The team game can be played by groups of various sizes (3-6 players) up to different levels (levels 1-6), all across three degrees of difficulty (basic, intermediate, and master). The team game is won by the group that completes the game successfully in the fewest number of rounds. Entering the individual game is only possible from the intermediate level upwards, after successfully completing the highest level. The individual winner gains admission aboard the Golden Boat and sets sail for the final destination, the Golden Shore – crowning their long and arduous journey.
The large game board, with the mango tree in the background, serves as the terrain for the movement of game pieces and a kind of spiritual journey for the players. This consciousness-elevating journey takes place by sailing on the rivers of life in small boats, while the player must collect the required number of mangoes and cards, solve tasks, and meet other conditions. The small player board serves as a "personal dashboard" to display the player's internal state changes by moving markers to the last reached state field each round and updating the number of mangoes in their collector. These changes must also be continuously updated on the aggregate counters of the main game board.
The various game components are divided into three groups. The most important are the active elements directly involved in play: boats, mango pieces, game cards, and dice. The second group includes auxiliary elements, such as the markers for the game board and player boards, and partly the player board itself. The third group consists of various accessories, such as the quick start guide, mango storage, component holders, notepad, and pen. These make the game simpler and more comfortable but are optional across all difficulty levels.
